About Me

I’m John Anderson, a freelance motion designer living in Everett, Washington (a short hop north of Seattle) with my wife and a growing number of houseplants.

After decades working in video production and marketing for non-profits I jumped feet-first into freelance motion design.  I had always loved working in After Effects (once I got past the steep learning curve), and the possibility animating for a living was a dream come true.  Now a days I get to enjoy crafting snappy motion for an explainer, rigging and animating expressive and lively characters, or writing expressions to animate more efficiently.  

As a kid my parents taught me the value of honesty, integrity, and fairness.  I bring that into my work with all of my clients, whether they’re Fortune 500 companies or 1-person operations.  My philosophy is to treat others how I would want to be treated.

When I’m not moving pixels I love enjoying the mountains and waters of the PNW, playing and DMing various TTRPGs with friends and family, giving back to the recovery community, and enjoying life with my amazing wife.
