Results: Two explainer videosfor Sno-Isle Libraries that helped restore the library levy. (YAY!)
I was honored when Belief Agency asked me to help animate two explainers for Sno-Isle Libraries library levy restoration campaign. The western Washington library system was facing a vote on whether to restore the library levy, and wanted to inform voters about the value of their important services and the consequences of losing them.
Using his storyboards, designer/animator, Vlad Loyko and I animated the first announcement video to launch the campaign. I then continued on solo to create the levy explainer using Vlad's storyboards.
While keeping to Sno-Isle's simple graphic style, we wanted to highlight the various patrons who use the libraries. Designer, Tim Wright, had already created illustrations which we then adapted in Figma, and brought to life in After Effects.
After the explainers were animated I was tasked with adapting them into social media friendly cutdowns to quickly teach locals the importance of restore the library levy. Adapting these required creative editing and adapting animated sections to seamlessly work together.
When the votes were tallied, the Sno-Isle Libraries levy was approved, with 57% of voters approving it. It was a true delight for me to play a part in keeping my local libraries funded and able to provide valuable resources for me and my neighbors.
